The goal of this project was to refresh and update the brand and labels of Spotted Bear Spirits, a company that sells spirits inspired by the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking and a nature-based lifestyle. The client felt that the old brand no longer represented them and wanted to retain some core elements, but update the look and feel before national distribution.

The goal of this project was to refresh and update the brand and labels of Spotted Bear Spirits, a company that sells spirits inspired by the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking and a nature-based lifestyle. The client felt that the old brand no longer represented them and wanted to retain some core elements, but update the look and feel before national distribution.

We worked closely with the client to explore multiple logo concepts related to the great outdoors and their products. After several rounds of revisions, a compass was chosen as the final logomark. The compass represents Spotted Bear Spirits being a guide to both the handcrafted alcohol market, as well as a guide to Colorado and outdoor living. A brand style guide was created with logo usage, colour swatches, typography uses and a framework for editing images on social media to create a consistent look and feel that aligned with their brand values.

The branding was a resounding success. The client was very happy with the final outcome. The updated look and feel of the brand helped attract more customers and increased brand awareness. The illustrated labels for their full range of products, which reflect the products in the bottle, as well as an aspect of the great outdoors, were well received by customers.

Deliverables for this project included an in-depth brand, product visualisations of each spirit bottle with label, and a range of collateral such as business cards, tissue paper, and more.
